Harvest timeline

Linear view of harvest and fruiting months across the NZ year. Filter by growing system or climate — each bar spans the full ripening window. Months run Dec → Nov to match the southern hemisphere growing season.

ⓘ Harvest months are a guide only — timing varies with region, microclimate, and cultivar. See the plant directory for variety notes.

Summer (Dec–Feb)
Stone fruit, early pipfruit, berries, cherries — peak abundance. Thin and net before ripening.
Autumn (Mar–May)
Feijoa, fig, grape, kiwifruit, late apples and pears. Preserve and store cool-climate varieties.
Winter (Jun–Aug)
Citrus peak in warm regions. Planning and planting season — few fresh harvests in cooler areas.
Spring (Sep–Nov)
Loquat, early berries, gooseberry. Blossom time — frost protection critical for tender fruit.
